Indian Pottery

Rock Art Pottery Pg1 of 4

This pottery comes from the high plateau of the west, where desert and mountains meet.  The Native American artists, who sign each piece, combine their natural artistic talents with the inspiration of their culture and the beauty of their home land.  Clays from New York, California, Tennessee and Texas are mixed to form a high quality liquid casting slip which is pumped into molds which dry the clay from the inside in.  After drying 24 hours, each piece has the seams removed and is smoothed with a sponge before painting.  All pieces are hand painted, airbrushed or etched by Navajo or Ute artists.  The pottery is then fired for 3-5 hours - reaching and holding 2000 degrees.  Many designs tell a story and include an associated story card.  Each piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.  Please note that all available graphic designs, pottery shapes or sizes are not shown on our website - call toll free 1-888-271-9369 to inquire about availability.
